On Sophisticated Lady

Today we have 3,200W of solar aboard. 2,400W of that is BougeRV TopCon flexible panels across our new hardtops, so the house bank, refrigeration, watermaker and nav gear can run from solar on a good Caribbean day.

What we run

  • Hardtops: 2,400W of BougeRV TopCon flexible panels (SSL759)
  • Real numbers: a shade test from dawn to noon (SSL767)
  • On the tender: BougeRV solar on our Highfield’s bimini
  • Earlier: a solar sunshade built with BougeRV CIGS panels (SSL705, 2024)

Why flexible panels

In SSL759 we cut about 250 lb off our solar array by switching to lightweight flexible panels on the new hardtops.
